The man behind the chemistry.

The intellectual force behind BlackBox lies with Dr. Dmitri Talpin, the father of LiquidSemi™ technology.

It was at the University of Chicago where Dmitri continued his work on the physics and material science of inorganic nanostructures. He has worked closely with UChicagoTech, the University’s Office of Technology and Intellectual Property, on commercializing the LiquidSemi™ technology.

Born in the city of Minsk, Belarus, Talapin finished his undergraduate work at Belarusian State University and then received his doctorate from the University of Hamburg. Prior to joining the University of Chicago faculty in 2007, Dmitri worked at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, and then The Molecular Foundry at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
